Moving On
Tom and I agreed to get the hell out of Sausalito on Sunday. We buzzed up to Sonoma for lunch.
Mmm, a fancy po' boy.
Huevos rancheros, anyone?
Post-lunch, we drove a bit farther into wine country to Frog's Leap Winery, a spot we visited in 2008. We quite accidentally found Frog's Leap wines in South Kensington's Whole Foods, so it was our Special American Wine Present whenever we attended an event or dinner. So it only felt right to revisit the winery now that they are just over an hour away.
Their property is gorgeous, even in winter, and it has clearly increased in popularity since we were last there (it was seriously busy for a winter weekend).
We skipped the fancy sit-down tasting in favor of hanging out in the barn. That sounds shady, but it wasn't.
There were chairs there, too. Good 'nuff.
It was eventually time to head south. Alas, we didn't have the limo.
